U.S. Embassy Delegation led by Political Officer David Schneider, visited the town of Ewo from April 2-4, 2015. The embassy donated books to Pierre Akirinzo primary school, Ambedza middle school, and the high school in Ewo accompanied by the Mayor Boniface Bangagna, and the acting Director of Education Herbert Mabandza. The primary school visited is one of the schools that receive assistance from IPHD and USDA through the school food program. The books donated will help incorporate nutrition and healthy eating habits into the classroom. The delegation also visited a special self-help project funded by the United States in conjunction with an NGO based in Brazzaville called l’Association Femmes Secours et Développement that is teaching young women in farming and sewing in order to support their families. This farm is currently growing eggplant, tomatoes, and okra and hopes to expand the vegetables they grow with additional funding from the United States.
