The U.S. Embassy in Brazzaville hosted fair to encourage study in USA on November 19, 2015 at Villa Washington in celebration of International Education Week. Nearly 250 students, parents and professionals attended the program. Participants initially visited the stand exhibiting U.S. Embassy resources on higher education in the United States America and received handouts about admission tests and opportunities like the Fulbright Fellowship. The U.S. Embassy personnel, including the Public Affairs and Consular Officers, and former Congolese students in the United States shed light on the many questions participants had about studying in the United States while visiting the stand. Post’s EducationUSA Adviser made a presentation about studying in the U.S. and the reasons for choosing United States as the best destination for higher education and while a Consular section staff member discussed how to prepare and apply for a student visa. The level of engagement during this program showcased the ever growing need for Congolese students and professionals to pursue higher education in the United States.
