The United States is proud to support the Republic of the Congo in its fight against illegal mining. On September 6, the Embassy welcomed a Congolese delegation, including police and judicial officers, an official from the Mining Directorate, and an engineer, all of whom will take part in a US-supported training course on illegal mining at the International Law Enforcement Academy in Gaborone, Botswana. Participants will increase their capacity to protect natural resources that are vital to the nation’s economy.
