The U.S. Embassy in Brazzaville is considering all options to facilitate the repatriation of U.S. citizens in the Republic of Congo. Due to Covid-19, all international passenger flights are suspended, and borders are closed. The government is implementing a curfew and a 20-day confinement as of today, April 1.
Ethiopian Airlines is scheduling a 747 flight for Saturday April 4, the plane is scheduled to stop in Brazzaville and Pointe Noire. Ethiopian airlines indicated that it will offer connecting flights to New York and Washington from Addis Ababa. U.S. citizens are responsible for their own cost of tickets which will be around $5,000 from Congo to the U.S.A. according to Ethiopian Airlines officials. All passengers must have valid passports and documentation to enter the United States. Currently, this is the only option the Embassy has to assist U.S. citizens to exit the Republic of Congo, as international flights are suspended, and borders are closed. There are no concrete plans for future flights – either civilian or military – at this time. The Embassy strongly encourages all Americans seeking to return to the United States to take advantage of this opportunity.
If you are in Pointe Noire, please contact Ethiopian Airlines by email to email@example.com ; so they can start collecting information and send you the payment information. Send a bio page of your passport and your phone number.
If you are in Brazzaville please contact Ethiopian Airlines by email to firstname.lastname@example.org ; so they can start collecting information and send you the payment information. Send a bio page of your passport and your phone number.
