Brazzaville Cleans Up the Beach for Earth Day – April 20, 2013
Earth Day is a time for communities to come together and pay special attention to their local environment. Millions of people help to clean up their environment on Earth Day around the world each year.
This year, the Public Affairs and Economic Sections of the Embassy partnered with RAJLC, CONELTA, Maison de la Presse, and Loango University to clean part of the beach in Pointe-Noire. Participants combed the beach with trash bags. After an hour of work, participants had already made a resounding difference. The ultimate lesson in this activity was that, through little actions every day, Congolese people can make their environment more beautiful and healthy.
