Ambassador Todd Haskell visits a primary and secondary school in Brazzaville South

On October 30, Ambassador Haskell was warmly welcomed by one hundred students from Père-Pierre-Desportes Primary and Secondary School. He was invited by the Association of Sœurs Servantes de Cana, manager of the school and beneficiaries of an Ambassador’s Self Help Fund grant to rehabilitate the school library, build shelves, and to acquire new books and computers. Ambassador Haskell was serenaded by the students as they sang to express their joy and recognition. He also donated ARS Nouveaux Horizon school boxes to the library. He urged the students to take care of the library; a source of intellectual and cultural development. He also encouraged them to make books their friend and companion, “as they will reveal their secrets and wonders.” To close the event Ambassador Haskell planted an avocado tree in the school yard to launch a school project called “Green School”. The Ambassador’s Fund support for this project aligns with Mission goals to foster education and youth entrepreneurship.
